WHAT TIME DO YOU GIVE TO PRAYER?

AlexWhyte

“I am as certain as I am standing here, that the secret of much mischief to our own souls, and to the souls of others, lies in the way that we stint, and starve, and scamp our prayers, by hurrying over them.”
— Rev. Alexander Whyte

IT COSTS YOU TIME AND EFFORT TO PRAY

TimeEffort

If you find your life of prayer to be always so short, and so easy, and so spiritual, as to be without cost and strain and sweat to you, you may depend upon it, you have not yet begun to ray.

COURAGE CAN BE CONTAGIOUS WHEN...

CourageContagious

To be strong and courageous is the proof of manhood. David exhorted his son, Solomon: "Be thou strong, and SHOW THYSELF A MAN: And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments . . . " (1 Kings 2:2, 3).

THE FIGHT IS ON!

FightIsOn

THE FIGHT IS ON!

There is a rock of much strength filled,
For upon this rock the nations build,
As granite cliffs rise strong and tall
The rock of fatherhood should never fall.

When fathers of wisdom, strong and bold,
Stand up for their families, God’s ways to hold,
Blessings will flow from heaven above
And fill those families with God’s great love.

But forces of darkness, cunning and sinister,
Much disturbed that fathers should minister
To the needs of their families, small or great,
Have unanimously decided, “Fatherhood – liquidate.”

The fight is on, hell’s in a storm,
Destroy this image to which man was born,
Get rid of fatherhood, whate’er the cost
And earth will suffer man’s greatest loss.

Make fathers small, make them a shrimp,
Turn them into a jellyfish wimp,
Alcohol, drugs, anything goes,
Even to bash his family with blows.

Make him too busy to take the family away
On a fine day’s outing or school holiday,
Better to hit golf balls around the green
Than take family away to a nice mountain stream.

“Adultery, adultery,” the devil cries.
This wrecks the family and fatherhood dies.
Let feminists rise and take his place
And this will give God a slap in the face!

Let’s change his appetites, make man a boar,
Who follows his lusts for a sleazy whore.
Oh yes, oh yes, if that’s not effectual,
We’ll turn him into a gay homosexual.

Yet ignorance, plain ignorance is the best tool
To destroy fatherhood and make man a fool.
For who will take time to study, excel,
To raise sons and daughters, God’s ways to tell.

Fathers arise, stand up and be counted,
Be a part of the army that God has mounted
To revive, restore, and bring back from the sand
The highest role God has given to man!

FATHERS, WE ARE RAISING MOVERS AND SHAKERS!

MoversShakers

We are raising our children to be movers and shakers of all that is wholesome and righteous.

We are raising children of strong, moral character.

We are raising children who are well taught on all godly and moral values.

We are raising children who know their Bibles and know how to pray.

We are raising children who know how to hold their heads up and their shoulders square in the face of all opposition to righteous standards.

We are raising children who know how to overcome sin.

We are raising children who know how to resist temptations to be liars, cheats, compromisers, and lazy “good for nothings.”

We are raising children who are not afraid of devils and demonic forces of darkness who dare to roar against us.

We are raising children who know their God and who will be strong and do exploits.

We are raising children who have stickability, persistence, and pluck.

We are raising children who are learning how to fight in the battles of life, who will never quit, or throw in the towel.

The whole world needs fathers and mothers who will be prepared to sacrifice everything to make this happen.

“The people who know their God will be strong and take action”
(Daniel 11:32 HCSB)

QUESTIONS WE NEED TO ASK

Questions

The following are 25 questions it is good to ask ourselves before making important decisions or judgments:
1. Do I press for something good at the expense of the excellent?
(Romans 12:1-2 and Philippians 1:10).

2. Do I regard myself as superior to others?
(John 13:4 and Romans 12:3).

3. Do I regard myself as infallible? (Proverbs 26:12).

4. Am I respecter of persons?
(Deuteronomy 1:17 and James 2:1-6).

5. Am I unbelieving?
(Psalm 78:19-22; Mark 6:6; 16:14; Hebrews 3:12; and 3:19).

6. Am I impulsive (pushy, impatient, or presumptive)?
(Numbers 14:44 and Psalm 32:9).

7. Am I teachable (open to light from others)?
The Psalmist prayed:
Psalm 25:4: “Teach me your paths.”
Psalm 25:5: “Teach me your truth.”
Psalm 25:9: “Teach me humility.”
Psalm 119:66,108: “Teach me good judgment and knowledge.”
Psalm 119:12: “Teach me your statutes.” (also 12, 6, 64, 68, 124 and 135).
Psalm 143:10: “Teach me your will.”

8. Do I think the matter through, considering all points?
(Luke 14:28).

9. Am I biased or prejudiced? (Psalm 78:57).

10. Do I side with the most popular point of view and the current
trends of society rather than the living Word of God?
(1 Kings 22:12-28 and Isaiah 55:8, 9).

11. Do I consider the other person’s point of view?
(Proverbs 11:14 and Philippians 2:3, 4).

12. Am I reactive or prickly? (Proverbs 16:32 and 19:11).

14. Am I dogmatic? (Proverbs 15:32 and James 3:17).

15. Do I consider the other person’s feelings? (Proverbs 13:19).

16. Do I say, “God told me!” Did He really? (Ezekiel 13:7).

17. Am I intolerant of the weakness of others? (Romans 15:1).

18. Am I judgmental and legalistic? (Romans 14:4, 10, 14).

19. Am I too liberal? (Matthew 15:9).

20. Do I want to have the last word?
(Proverbs 29:23; Jams 4:6; and 1 Peter 5:5, 6).

21. Am I apathetic and leave most decisions for others to make? This is immature, wimpy, not manly and in itself a weak decision.
(1 Corinthians 16:13).

22. When I leave others to make decisions and they turn out wrong,
am I the first to criticize them? (Ephesians 4:32).

23. Do I consider the Scriptures to see if there are any biblical
references to the decisions I need to make?
(Isaiah 50:4 and John 5:39).

24. Do I welcome the witness of the Spirit of other mature Christians? (Proverbs 11:14).

25. Do I like to have the knowledge of things but lack the will or discipline to actually put the knowledge to practical experience?
(James 1:22).

Be encouraged,
