This year is catching up on us quickly, isn’t it? I can hardly keep up with it. In a few days we’ll all be enjoying Thanksgiving together with our families. What a precious time. We’ll be sure to have a wild and exciting time, as we always do, with our large extended family. May you have a precious and joyous Thanksgiving together, too.
I am still waiting, but still believing, to print and send out another issue of Above Rubies before the end of the year. Although I am now waiting for $30,000.00 to come in to be able to go to print, I always continue in faith. My design artist is working on the magazine and I trust we will have the miracle to print.

A BOOK OF FACEBOOK POSTS
I am preparing a book of two powerful inspirations for each day of the year. One will be from me and the other from Michelle Kauenhofen (mother of 11 children and the Director of Above Rubies in Canada).
These refueling “encouragements for each day” will be taken from the posts which Michelle and I post on Facebook each day. Facebook readers lose these as Facebook updates every day and many are not on Facebook.
I know this will be a powerful encouragement to all wives and mothers. We are still contemplating on a name for the book—and I hope above all hopes to advertise it in the coming issue of Above Rubies! How do I slow down? I keep getting new visions and ideas every day.

My husband has now started a Facebook page for men where he posts a challenging and inspiring post for men each day.
This is a “miracle page” for Colin has never been on a computer in his life and most probably never will! I type and post his message for him each morning and he has other men of God who watch over the page for him.

LOST MAGAZINES
Back copies of Above Rubies disappear so quickly. However, I try to keep one copy of every magazine that I don’t let go. Going through the magazines recently, I found that I need to find three magazines-- #69, 71 and 81. I actually do have a copy of these magazines, but only with the Postal insert. “When I received the last Above Rubies Mini Newsletter, I excitedly sat down to read it even though my eight month old baby was screaming in the background and needing his Mommy. I read the very first line of the newsletter: "Trust this little note finds you rejoicing in the Lord and in your wonderful high calling of motherhood!" Immediately I felt convicted! I stopped reading, and went to nurse and cuddle my baby. Motherhood is a high calling, and I need to constantly remember to put my children first, even above reading the Above Rubies newsletter!”

“The other day at the library I came across Mary Poppins on VHS and decided to watch the cute, classic show with my chicklins. We sat down on a Saturday afternoon and began to watch the classical tale of the famous hired nanny. It didn't take me but a few moments into the movie to realize there was definitely an agenda behind this Hollywood tale.
In one of the first scenes, the mother of the children, proudly displaying her banner for the rights of women to vote, began to sing a song portraying men to be just a little stupid. As I gasped in surprise, I knew a history lesson for my girls was about to unfold. The story of course goes on to hiring a nanny for the children, because it is obvious that the mother of the children was on a mission. She was gone throughout the entire movie, busy campaigning for women’s rights, etc.
And here comes the perfect nanny "mother" figure for the children-Mrs. Mary Poppins! A perfect picture of our society today. Children being nannied, instead of mommied! I could not believe that this wonderful childhood classic that we all remember and loved was filled with such evil intentions.
As the movie winds down, we see a repenting father who didn't have time to spend with his children because he was out providing for his little brood. Again, I asked, but what about the Mommy? She was never portrayed as wrong, or being a bad mother because she was not around.
Now some might be thinking that I have read way too much into this harmless childhood classic.
But I think not! Only time has told what this type of thinking and acting has done to our society. Satan's agenda!
As a mother, there is nothing more precious to me than raising my children. I, the mother, take full responsibility, and will give an account to God for what I do with these blessings He has given me. No campaign, no movement, no agenda and no job could or should keep me from the awesome task of being a keeper at home, a wife and a mother!
I do hope someday to be as creative, fun, and witty as the famous character displayed in the movie, and I also am glad that there are sweet Mary Poppins throughout the world, but the job of a nanny most certainly belongs to none other than the mommy!”
I AM THANKFUL TODAY!
Read Colossians 2.7 and 1 Thessalonians 5:18 and speak this affirmation out loud. Maybe you could read it to your family on Thanksgiving.
