YOU ARE RICH PARENTS!

RichParents

How amazing. You have it in your hand to give riches to your children every day. God's Word is more valuable than fine gold. Make sure you invest "true riches" in your children. Invest in them that which will last for eternity, not that which will rust and fade away.

IF YOU WANT TO OFFEND...

Titus2Woman

Repost.

Rather sad but true. It is an indictment on the church that so many women in the church do not like what the Bible says about women being in the home. Surely God's plan is far better than man's ways.

UTTERLY INSANE

UtterlyInsane
We live in a world where “things are turned upside down.” Issiah 29:16 tells us about this. In general, society is living the opposite way to what God intends. The majority of mothers in this generation don’t even have a picture in their minds of a mother in the home. They have been brainwashed to think it is the norm to leave their babies in daycare and go out into their career. They have been conditioned for careers outside the home and taught that motherhood is inferior.

The opposite is the truth. God sees the career of motherhood as the highest career—above every other career. In Psalm 128:3 God gives the picture of the mother in the heart of her home with her children all around her.

I heard these words on the Internet the other day and I resonate with them: “It is barbaric to separate mothers from their babies so that mothers can pursue a career goal. I want you to understand how demented feminism is to mothers. It has convinced women to violate all of their natural affections and biological responses. Our descendants are going to look back at this point of history where more babies were killed through abortion and where moms abandoned their children for a pay check. They will call it utterly insane.”

It’s time we returned to God’s plan. It’s the only way that brings blessing and exalts a nation.

LIVE ABOVE THE WORLD

LiveAboveWorld

Are you living under the pressures and challenges of life? Or are you living above, in Christ, where you can live in victory no matter what you are facing? Abide in Hm and let Him abide in you. This is the secret of living "above" all the things that are crowding in on you.

I love the words of the old hymn by Cleland McAfee:

There is a place of quiet rest,
Near to the heart of God;
A place where sin cannot molest,
Near to the heart of God.

O Jesus, blest Redeemer,
Sent from the heart of God,
Hold us, who wait before Thee,
Near to the heart of God.

There is a place of comfort sweet,
Near to the heart of God;
A place where we our Savior meet,
Near to the heart of God.

There is a place of full release,
Near to the heart of God;
A place where all is joy and peace,
Near to the heart of God.

Be blessed today,

YOU ARE GOD’S DWELLING PLACE

ChristInYou

I’d love to share with you another thought from this book I am currently reading “The Day Christ Died.” Giving a picture of Jerusalem the author states: ‘The temple was gleaming and resplendent, as always; it required no special cleaning because, daily it was served by seven thousand priests and hundreds of Levites, and dust was not permitted to collect even on the huge sold-gold cluster of grapes on the east wall.”

The temple was where God dwelt in His shekinah glory in the Holy of Holies. They dared not allow it to become tarnished, dirty, or dusty. However, there is no temple in Jerusalem today. It was destroyed in AD 70 by the Roman General Titus and his army. God has now chosen to dwell in our hearts by His Holy Spirit. We are now the temples of the living God.

1 Corinthians 6:19, 20 says: “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price; therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are god’s.”

The Greek word for temple is “naos” which is not the word for the temple but for the Holy of Holies in the temple, the place where God dwelt. He has now chosen us to be His Holy of Holies. That is just too amazing to take in! That God would choose to dwell in us! And He wants to dwell in our homes too. He is a dwelling God.

Therefore, we have the awesome responsibility to keep our lives clean from all the dirt of sin and impurity. He wants to purify our souls and our homes. He wants us to keep our homes clean and organized because He wants to dwell in them.

Let’s prepare our lives and our homes to be His dwelling places.

THE POWER OF MOTHERHOOD

FamKitchen

I am currently reading “The Day Christ Died” (The Inspiring Classic on the Last 24 Hours of Jesus’ Life) by Jim Bishop. It’s not a new book. It was printed nearly 70 years ago. I read it when I was a late teen and it impacted me greatly. Recently it came back to my remembrance, and I felt I should read it again.

As is my habit, I don’t start at Chapter one. I first like to read Dedication, the Forward, the Introduction, and even the Bibliography. As I opened this book again, I noticed the Dedication: “This book is dedicated to Jenny Bishop, my mother who taught us to love Him.” What a beautiful dedication.

But then I was blessed again as I read the end of his Introduction called “For the Record.”

“My greatest continuing encouragement came from my mother. This is more than a personal acknowledgement because her stories about Jesus—the omnipotence of Him, the forgiving qualities in Him, the love of Him, and, most especially the fear of Him—began when each of us reached the age of three. She did not stop until the sacrament of marriage took each of us away.”

Wouldn’t you love to have something like that written about you? I would. I noticed the words “continuing encouragement.” She didn’t give up teaching and encouraging her children. IT was continuous through their lives. Did you notice that she “did not stop” revealing Jesus to them until they left the home to be married. She made the most of every moment.

These words are an encouragement to all mothers. It is so easy to let the powerful years of motherhood slip through your fingers. Oh yes, you love your children and yet not be dedicated to motherhood. Other interests or even a career take precedence and the powerful moments and hours of being with children, teaching them, and imparting into their lives are lost. And they can never be regained.

You have your children in your home to influence their lives for such a short time of their lives. Think of maybe only 21 years compared to the 80 plus years or so they will live. You’ve only got this chance. Make the most of it until the day they are married.
