HOLD ON A BIT LONGER * NEW ABOVE RUBIES COMING SOON

Once again, I have been waiting for the finance to come in. It costs over $60,000.00 to print and send out each issue cross the world. It hasn’t all come in yet, but I feel, as I have done before, to go ahead in faith and prepare the new magazine. I find that when I step out in faith, things happen, and it’s amazing how I am soon able to print another issue. Please pray for God’s anointing upon this issue as I prepare it. I would love to have the editing completed by this weekend if possible. I’ll see how I go.

Above Rubies relies completely on donations from its readers and those who have a burden for the restoration of marriage, motherhood, and family life in this nation. We need to continue getting out this message of encouragement to the wives and mothers of the world. If you would like to take part in this great vision, you can give in either of the following ways.

In the meantime, while you wait for the new magazine, here are a few items for your interest.

If God touches your heart to give toward getting out this needed and important message to families, you can do it whichever way suits you best:

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD

If you stand for the Christian principles upon which this nation was founded and if you love to hear the beautiful carols and Christian hymns during the Christmas period, here’s your opportunity to take a stand. You can call or email the company who are banning Christmas carols from their mall in Florida this Christmas. I’m not sure about you, but I think it is wonderful to have Christmas carols play in the public arena during this time of the year. It is so uplifting.

I couldn’t get through on phone but emailed instead. Go to:

ORPHAN HOSTING * YOU CAN HOST ORPHANS FROM POLAND UKRAINE THIS WINTER, BUT YOU NEED TO SIGN UP NOW!

Sue McMahon writes:

Have you ever longed to go on a mission trip but decided you weren’t able for various reasons (such as having young children at home)? Well, I have some good news for you! Your family can be missionaries right from your very own home through orphan hosting!

Be Love! Orphan Outreach Missions (BLOOM) is an organization which helps orphans in the “pure religion” spirit of James 1:27 to look after orphans and widows in their distress . BLOOM does this by bringing orphaned children from Poland and Ukraine to live with Christian families here in the United States for approximately four to five weeks in the winter.  (We also have a six-week summer program.)

During this time, the children experience the unconditional love of a family and begin to understand the love our Lord Jesus has for them. In addition, the children quickly develop a basic understanding and use of the English language which helps develop in them a higher self-esteem and a feeling of accomplishment. They also witness healthy relationships between parents and their children, often for the first time in their lives. These basic skills provide tremendous emotional improvements that help the children as they grow up.

Our ultimate hope and mission, however, is that the children will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior through the families that host them.

Sadly, many orphans are forced to leave their orphanages at age sixteen to seventeen and live on their own. Since this is almost impossible, most of the girls turn to prostitution as a means of survival, while most of the boys turn to hard crime and end up in jail. Saddest of all is that a high percentage of these children will end up committing suicide.

However, orphan hosting changes all of that! Hosting an orphan brings hope into these children’s lives where there was no hope. And while BLOOM is only a hosting program, many of our families decide to adopt the children they hosted, providing them with a “forever family.”

To find out more about hosting an orphan, please go to our website where you can register to see photos of the children: https://www.bloomworldwide.org/hosting2.html

Please prayerfully consider if hosting an orphan is what God is calling you to do, and if you have any questions at all about hosting, please contact April Wareham at 817-929-3681.

October 31 is supposed to be the deadline, but there are still over 50 children who still need families! If this is on your heart, please sign up NOW.

Another way you can help is by donating a scholarship to help another family with the costs of hosting, which is quite expensive ($2,950). If you can help in this way, please use this link: https://co.clickandpledge.com/sp/d1/default.aspx?wid=113875  . (All donations and hosting costs are fully tax-deductible.) I would encourage you to look at the children’s photos first and choose which child you’d like to place a scholarship on, making a note of their ID# with your donation.

Thank you so much for whatever you can do for the least of these children of His!

MothersCalendar A MOTHER’S DAILY HELP IN BLESSING HER CHILDREN

By Beverly Kirk

A 31 DAY PRAYER CALENDAR FOR YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN

This is a desk, stand up, flip calendar to have on your table or sideboard. For 31 days, it gives a prayer for your children, featuring different character traits, and includes five or six Scriptures. For Example:

Day 1

Lord, may my children love You and Your Word (with six appropriate Scriptures).

Day 13

Lord, may my children have pure lips (with six appropriate Scriptures).

Day 28

Lord, may my children have discernment (with eight appropriate Scriptures).

It’s a wonderful way to focus on the prayer and character trait for your children and choose one of the Scriptures for a memory verse. You will want to continue to use it month by month until you have all memorized all the Scriptures.

Oh, yes, it also has a hymn (with the music) on the other side of the desk calendar which you can sing to.

I highly recommend it. Nancy

Comments from users:

"The prayer calendar is a wonderful tool for all moms. There is nothing more important for a mom to do than pray for her children. The calendar is very attractive and is a perfect size to carry with her. Each day has a meaningful selection of verses to turn our hearts to prayer.”

"Tremendous tool for praying for our children and singing over them. Several times I have felt prompted to open it up and sing specific songs from the book.  What a blessing!"

LUNCH FOR JESUS

I wish I could have been that lad,

That gave the Lord his lunch,

When Jesus made the people glad

With bread and fish to much.

Do oyou suppose that I can do

A loving little deed,

To make someone happy too,

And help a friend in need?

WORKING CHEERFULLY

I am Mother’s dishwasher,

Happy as cn be,

Other girls may cry and out,

But that is not for me.

The Bible says that those who eat

Should do their share of work.

So I shall do it cheerfully,

And never duty shirk!

YOU BELONG TO ROYALTY

This morning I read Revelation 1:5, 6: “Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

Isn’t it amazing that when we are born gain into God’s family through the blood of Jesus Christ that He shed on the cross for us, that we are not only washed from our sins, but we become kings and priest. We enter a royal family for our Father is King of all kings and Lord of all lords. Often we forget who we are don’t we?

If God says we are kings, we should live like royalty. Bible reminds us in 1 Peter 29: “But ye are a chosen generation, a ROYAL priesthood, a holy nation . . .” The dictionary says that royalty means “people of royal blood or status, members of a royal family, that which pertains to a king or queen.”

Truly, we have been redeemed by the royal blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We now belong to a royal kingdom and a royal priesthood.

Therefore, don’t you think we should act in a more royal way? We are queens and princesses of the King of kings. Let’s act accordingly. We should teach our daughters to live, talk, walk, speak, and act like princesses. We should teach our sons to act in a kingly manner. With nobility. Regality. The authority of the kingdom of God. We need to remind them that they belong to a royal kingdom.

We are raising princes and princesses. I see so many young people, even from Christian homes, who give a totally opposite picture.

Begin to see yourself as a member of the royal family. Train your children to behave in a royal manner. Become true ambassadors of the King of kings and Lord of lords.

THE UNSEEN GUEST

A mother shared with me recently how she understands biblical truths far better when she does something tangible. It helps the truth to become part of her life.

We talked about how God talked and fellowshipped with Adam and Eve at the end of each day, “the cool of the day” (Genesis 3:8). A little breeze is beginning to blow. It’s the time of the day when we relax after the day’s work. God had already established the principle of work with them (Genesis 2:15). It’s the time of the day when we eat and fellowship together.

God still wants to come to our families ate evening time, the time when daddy comes home from work and everyone gathers together to eat and communicate with one another. The time when God wants to specifically visit with us and be present at our table.

Sadly, God waits in vain in many homes. He comes at the “cool of the day,” but no one is home. There is not even the smell of food cooking? Where is everyone? May be still battling the traffic as they come home from another extracurricular activity.

And yet God is waiting at home to be present with us at our table!

My friend decided to purchase a special plate to put at the table as they set the table for the evening meal each day. She said that this will remind her that Christ is with them as they sit together.

Christ is the head of our home,

The unseen guest at every meal,

The silent listener to every conversation.

Do you remember these lines? They graced our wall when I was child growing up and impacted my life.

Welcome Jesus to your table.

May you and your family be blessed of the Lord. Keep walking in His footsteps, not only personally, but as a family. Don’t leave your children behind. Keep them up with you as you seek after God and His ways. Teach them His ways every day as you walk this life.

In His love,

NANCY CAMPBELL
