RESIST PASSIVITY
RESIST PASSIVITY
Passivity is accepting enemy attack without objection or resistance. The enemy quickly advances when good men stay quiet and do nothing. Let us be real men and despise this “do nothing” spirit. We must resist all areas of passivity, first in our own lives, and then we must teach our families how to resist evil.
One of the main reasons why our church and country are in a desperately weak state is because of the crippling effects of passivity. Passivity does not find any place in the character of a real man of God. Passivity belongs to the wimp. Passivity belongs to the jelly fish for they have no back bone. Neither do pacifists.
A spiritual pacifist will not stand up and resist evil. He will not initiate any action in order to confront and repulse evil. There are far too many Christians who will not even exercise
their God-given right to vote in order to resist evil. If they will not vote to resist evil, what else will they not do to resist evil?
Jesus Christ was certainly not a spiritual pacifist when He went into the temple and drove out the merchants. He was not a spiritual pacifist when He confronted the devil with the =
words, “It is written.” He was not a pacifist when he called the Pharisees “white-washed tombs” (Matthew 23:27). There is no passivity in the Scripture that says, “Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?” (Psalm 94:16).
We can do more on our knees than we can on our feet, but when we get off our knees, we will find that we can do much more to put down God’s enemies because we have been on our knees! You place yourself and your family on the front lines of the battle when you pray.
Be encouraged. Colin Campbell
